Hello loves, I have another wonderful independent company that I found on
Isamocrochet Folksy and instantly loved, such a talent and passion for crochet and using it in a really modern and unique way, I am now dying to learn how to crochet thanks to the wonderful Isamocrochet
I really think she has such a talent & I hope you will enjoy her creations...
This is the beautiful crocheted butterfly that I'm going to focus on & that I photographe;
So ..yes, laying down with prettyness on is lovely
When did you first get the idea for starting your own business & where were you when the thought first hit you?
I was a little girl and I always wanted to make something for other people not just for myself, at school I was making friendship bracelets and giving them away to friends... a little bit later I was making crochet bracelets and crochet bikinis for my friend's gift shop when back from my day job and knitted sweaters for neighbours and friends... this was 10 years ago, I never thought that I could have my own little business.
I am in total love with these, oh to have pierced ears...
Why did you start up up your business?
Now when my children are growing and they need me so much I thought is the best time to focus more on what I love to do so that is how it started. I am my own boss, designer, maker, photographer and journalist (I blog quite a lot).
I love that I've never seen a butterfly necklace like this, ever, to me, that makes it even more special.
What values did you want your company to have when you first started out
(eco friendly, fair trade, no animal testing etc)
Every little thing made by me is made at home with care for a quality not quantity and materials are mostly sourced from UK. I try to re-use all packaging I receive as the scariest nightmare for me is the amount of rubbish we produce everyday.

Love the carried on vintage feel and thought that's been put into the photo
What are you dreams for your company?
I would love to sell my patterns, sell enough to cover the materials for new designs and a time spent on creating them... I really don't see myself as a huge factory of knitted garments making big money, just a little to stay at home with my family and to be able to share my creations with the rest of the world.
What is the most enjoyable product to make for your company ?
I just love making my earrings, each one is different and I love vintage doilies, they are my biggest inspiration, second is fingerless mittens, I have my own pattern in my head (soon will be ready for sale too) so I make them again and again... but the most I love to start new things, try new patterns and experiment with yarns and stitches.
As a lot of you probably already know, I m in total love with butterflies and anything butterfly-esque, so this is really perfect, and the quality is wonderful, and it came in a pretty little box too which is always lovely when you're ordering something special
What do you think sets your work & company apart from others?
My designs are coming from my head, I am inspired everyday looking at a girl on the bus, cutting flowers in my part-time little job, from visiting museums and music concerts... I get many compliments on my work from people I don't even know on craft fairs, but they recognize the design, I think this is because I like to make things a bit different,I like them to be unusual and original, if we all made exactly the same thing and copied everything from one another - world would be a little too boring...
I would love to have the skill & knowledge to do this, I think this is amazing & it's probably my favourite piece out of all the photos I have selected from isamocrochet's Folksy
So yes, if you have Valentines presents to get or Birthdays , Mothers Day, Easter, Anything, I would definitely recommend checking out le website :)
& you can..
Thankyou to Isamocrochet to taking part in the feature & Interview
Love as always, Chlay x
